While travelling by train, hardly anyone thinks about the wheels, even though they are extremely important safety components that reliably carry many tonnes of load every day and withstand high speeds. The utmost care is therefore required during their production. Our engineering team has developed a unique hydraulic press specifically for this purpose. With a force of 3,000 kN, equivalent to 300 tonnes, it embosses serial numbers and quality markings into glowing-hot railway wheels.

To compensate for the uneven load on the press ram during embossing, a special design was selected. Despite its unusual shape, the machine, weighing approximately 20 tonnes, is exceptionally stable and can be perfectly integrated into the complex manufacturing process. We are proud of this development.

The hydraulic press is equipped with a manipulator that also removes the embossed wheels after processing.
